TEAMZ is a competitive format for PSO where players compete against each other for the best times in a drafted quest within the given time limit.

Next month we will be hosting a Teamz 2v2 tournament bracket in the TA discord server. This is the first time we've done a tournament under this format with pre-registered teams, so it should be pretty exciting. Everyone on Ephinea is welcome to join in, you may even play on Ephinea if you really want to.

There are rules that must be followed as well as prizes, both of which are listed below. More prizes may be added at a later time.

General Rules:
  • Teamz abides by the vanilla ruleset in addition to its own rules. Please read further in the discord server if you are not familiar with these rules.
  • Matches may be played on Unseen or Ephinea, however Unseen is preferred for its /timer command.
    • The /timer command on Unseen sends clients multiple banners. The first banner is a message stating that the timer will start in 1 minute. The next banner is when the timer starts. All banners after are updates of time left, with a final banner telling you the timer has ended.
    • You may manually check time left with the /timeleft command.
  • You must register your team by April 1st.
  • The Quest Draft will decide which quest you're playing. 5 quests are randomly selected by a bot from a given quest pool.
    • Initially each team will roll 1 (one) d20, the highest roller getting quest advantage.
    • Teams will then strike quests, in the order 1-2-1. This means the team with quest advantage will strike first and last. The second team strikes 2 quests in total between the first team's strikes.
    • In recurring matches in a best of 3 or greater, advantages will alternate.
  • When the quest has been decided, teams will then be given 15 minutes to prepare for the quest.
  • The default timer for matches is 1 hour.
    • You may not load the quest until the match timer has started.
    • You may prepare for the quest by gearing, pre-planning, and watching videos.
    • If you are loaded into the quest when the 1 hour timer has ended, you may complete the run.
    • When the timer has ran out, stalling by loading into the quest and not starting the in-game timer or otherwise is not permitted. You must begin playing the quest within 3 minutes of loading it at this point.
  • If you run into any issues that prevent you from playing, such as crashes or connection issues, or notable bugs in the client or quest, you may call for a pause.
    • Using the /pause command on Unseen will initiate a pause on the time.
    • During a pause, if you are already loaded into a quest, you may finish the run. However you may not start another run until the timer resumes.
    • If a pause occurs in the first 5 minutes of a match, a request to reinitialize the match timer may be allowed.
Bracket Rules:
  • Single Elimination
    • Matches are Best of 3
    • Finals are Best of 5
  • Teams will simply perform a Quest Draft.
    • Players must use the "tournament" tag for the bot when rolling quests.
    • One person from each team must roll a d20 for the Quest Advantage.
    • Teams decide together for the Quest Draft, but ultimately one player must be designated as the striker.
    • In consecutive matches in a best of 3 or greater, quest advantage alternates.
  • We don't allow toxicity towards other players. Banter is okay as long as its between someone you know and it makes sense and you're all having a fun time. If things get too heated you may be warned.
As this is the first tournament, prizes are very minimal. This is done so that we can buff out any kinks in the format before anything bigger is on the line.
Prizes are *per player* of a team. Item prizes are for Ephinea Normal Mode.

1st Place:
v502
v101

Team registration will be closing on April 1st. Registration is done manually, so please join the discord server below and send a message in the teamz channel or to a teamz moderator with your team information. After that point your team will be added to the bracket.

Not all the matches will be played on a single day. After April 1st, your brackets will be revealed, and then you may schedule your matches with your opponents at a time that will work for all of you. Be sure to set aside about 2 hours in case something goes wrong. There is also no deadline for this tournament since we're trying to feel out how long these would take.

If you have any questions or are looking for teammates, feel free to use this thread for all of that.
