Are there any animators out there? 3D or otherwise. I know most 3D animators use Blender or Maya which I'm not too familiar with. Hell, even 2D animators would be nice to collaborate with. I tried my hand at 2D animation as you can see from my first shit 2D animations but 2D requires a bit more equipment to do well.
I animated by mouse, which is not how you're supposed to animate 2D but I wasn't going to throw down 200 bucks on a tablet. Both 3D and 2D have pros and cons. I enjoy the ability to exaggerate more with 2D, personal art styles, and the ease of just drawing what you want without finding models. 2D requires art skills to which I have very little. All my art work was reminiscent of Ren and Stimpy. Actually, a bit more amateur like Salad Fingers (David Firth I think?). Ugly, disgusting, gut-wrenching art style was more my thing. I loved disturbing animations. Problem is all my drawings were the same, ugly. I didn't have much variety so when I tried to draw a bit more lewd characters they came out as Necromorphs LOL. So I turned away from 2D.
A bit embarrassing but I actually started 3D animation through porn animators. LOL yea porn animators. You know why? Because finding 3D mentors who stream is nearly impossible. So those people who make Night Elves Gone Wild were the ones who taught me the basics. They're amazing animators. They're all self taught family men(some women) who work office jobs but animate on the side. Honestly Pixar should hire them. The cons of 3D is finding models of course and computer specs. These guys render such realistic animations with global illumination, ambient occurrence and all kinds of effects within an hour at most. I remember my first rendering process took 2 whole days. I keep everything simple to cut down on the rendering time.
I've become more of a Jack of All Trades than specializing in one thing. I animate simply. I can use Sony Vegas simply. I use Photoshop simply. You get the picture. I only taught myself the stuff I needed. I never bothered embellishing my videos but I'm sure if I do it'd pay off immensely. Learning all that takes time though and I don't want to do that atm and this is the internet so I know there's bound to be someone out there who can use one of these programs EXTREMELY well. That way I don't have to go searching through a gazillion forums to find help. I know we got a ton of programmers here who've been a huge help to what I've been doing. KIREEK, Soly, the late Kion. Much love, many thanks to yall. But there's gotta be some people on the more artsy side of things out here. 3D animators, 2D animators, Sony Vegas editors, Photoshop fanatics, Adobe After Effects pros, Graphic Designers where yall at?
