That was my fault. I was in the middle of investigating something and the login server was down for a few seconds. It just so happened that during those few seconds, the item was found.

The ships send the announcement to the login server which sends it off to all the ships. Since the login server was down while I was doing something real quick, no announcement went out.
 
@Cookie - I don't know why this keeps happening on my client, but...
I love it so much. Maybe I need to uninstall some HUney skins.
