What's the logical reason for this?

As far as I can tell it just f***'s the community without any logical reason other than to p**s people off.

Which perhaps wouldn't be so bad if the event rewards weren't already so meagre...
 
Do not be so negative. PSO as a game does not stop you from hunting good items, and the xmas items should just be a nice surprise once in a while!

As a hard working Christian, I would not enjoy a life where I am just handed down anything I want, just because I stomp my feet. Let's be grateful, and maybe say a prayer next time you open a xmas box.

Remember when Sonic Team made a quest where you could trade 5 PDs for one add slot? Or Lucky Coins for Scape Dolls!

I don't remember that being part of any event which was intended to reward players and boost positive community sentiment, no.
 
The main thing is just that every year, we've made constant mistakes with the present list that ultimately tanked value on a lot of items far beyond the intention.

This year, we've opted to leave a fair chunk of the list as just really difficult to get - this way, Presents aren't the main thing you hunt for. They just drop as a bonus along with your primary hunts, alongside the HBR boosts on MAE or just grinding out a few runs of Fiasco with some friends.

I understand that getting the fifth 15h Samba Maraca in a row is frustrating, especially when the payoff of finally getting a "rare" present is "just" a 15h Lavis Cannon or the like, and I understand that only getting 1 coal back when you've saved up 40 from multiple Fiasco runs is vexing.. but it's far less of an evil when compared to years past where you'd open a present and suddenly your Psycho Wand hunt ended from nuking Bartles in Forest, or the market for hit Frozen Shooter was gone because people wouldn't settle for less than 30H.

We, unfortunately, cannot please everyone. I'm not going to ask you to like the current state of things, but I'm going to ask you to at least understand our concerns with printing powerful item after powerful item non-stop. Lots of Presents drop in a short timeframe - last year, the list was less conservative, and the entire thing was found within a day. Here we're five~six days in, and it's still not totally revealed. It's a bit unprecedented and I'm not entirely sure if it's a good thing or not.

And try not to be too upset at the Santa HUcast account, that's just playing a character to pour your hate onto.
