Hey! So, I just got the hyperkin duke controller, and was REALLY looking forward to playing pso with the same controller I used back on the xbox. Problem is, the triggers won't map properly. This is the same problem the normal xbox one controllers have. You can't map the trigger axis' in game for whatever reason. Is there any chance this could change in the future? I was really looking forward to that authentic experience!

Considering that client editing is a PITA (which would probably be whats required to get them to recognize), you're better off using a 3rd party program like joy2key or xpadder. Simply shortcut w/e you want or have on your keyboard to the triggers and go, and you'll be set. :P

waaah, thats always the suggestion. but its so annoying using a program like that since it interferes with every other game, and you have to launch it beforehand D: oh well...

You need a better driver that allows you to treat the triggers as buttons, instead of an axis, for PSO to let you map anything to them.

again, that would interfere with other games... aahhh i suppose this means this isn't going to happen then?

Welcome to trying to play old and new games on the same system. Run XP in a VM or build a separate PC for retro gaming. Old games will never get Xinput support.

this is the "suggestions" page, for a constantly updating NEW version of an old game.

There are things that are possible for the developers of this free software to do, there are also things that are not. This isn't the developers job.

You were already offered a good solution to your problem, one that works for everybody else. Unfortunately, you will have to deal with very small inconveniences, like starting a program before you launch PSO and shutting it down afterwards.

The problem Wikikimoto is that, though they are the admins of this server, they have control over just that, the server. They do NOT have the source code for PSO, meaning they cannot simply change whatever they want willy nilly. The game and the server software are separate, so they only have so much control over it. This project and other servers did not remake the game, more so its allowing sega's game to connect to custom server software.
