About Wrath of Forest and its impact on event

Not here for drama so I won't speak about anyone in particular, it's a general feeling I've had for the past days.

While the event is nearly over now, I can say that it's not what I was expecting at all. An event should be rewarding the HARD WORK, bringing players TOGETHER and something FUN. Annoying thing is that it's all the opposite. Players are competing, soloing Wrath of Forest's first room for hours and are actually winning ubers with 50 hit playing the laziest and most disgusting way possible.

Something is wrong when instead of having fun, the community splits and ends up doing brainless runs of easy quests just to stay in the top ten eggs found. I understand that the less experienced and geared players should have their chance too, but not this way.

Perhaps, you should have picked a certain amount of quests where eggs would have dropped, forcing some diversity and avoiding only one quest spam.

Remove it please.

You can't cancel the top ten reward because THAT would be really unfair. It's part of the event. What can be done is, once it's over, remove the quest. I wonder if you would actually play WOF if drops were disabled, would you really play it for "fun" ?

honestly i don't mind about drops,wof probably not enough spawn,i wish double it, just for fun

Events almost over anyways and I think it was a nice attempt at something different/new, though different/new doesn't always mean good. The uber rewards were kinda exciting at first but when double egg chance happened, it killed the excitement and became mindless droning. Personally had more fun group hunting and trading Easter Egg Rappy items but that's just me. If this is more about WoF than event though, I think the nerf is fine and no need to remove outright. I do miss PTS though ;-;

No, some of us worked hard and didn't spam 1st room wof's and played with people across the whole event. Taking away the top ten prize would be ridiculous.

The main problem is that the people actually playing the game don't stand a chance against those soloing WOF's first room. That's kind of sad.

Make WoF's spawn(s) lighter. First room having that high a number of foes is a bit ridiculous ^_^

Next event Sodaboy is probably going to find something more exciting for item acquisition, don't despair !

I think the "Top 10" reward should be viewed as a bonus. It wasn't the focus of the whole event, and besides, we don't even know what the prize is - you could be stressing over something that really isn't a big deal. In any case, you may view people spamming WoF as "disgusting" but it's not for us to decide how other people enjoy playing the game.

I share your disappointment that you won't get a top 10 prize, because I had no chance at it either, but that's the way it goes sometimes. SB would probably be open to ideas for future events like having a tiered participation reward rather than a top 10.

That means I had a lot of free time lately which is not the case of everyone. But as you can see, people catched up without any hard work and way less time than I spent.

Oh, I agree. But that's not what I said, either.

I'm just warning against using the terms he used like "disgusting", "lazy", "sad" and "brainless" because those are inflammatory and unnecessary to make a point.

I am not and will not ever discourage constructive criticism. But don't say "I don't want drama" and then fling insults around which just invites drama. And I still stand by my point that there was much more to enjoy about the event than a top 10 prize that nobody knows what it even is, yet.

Edit: Again, I am entirely sympathetic with Zen. I play LotL characters which are at an inherent disadvantage, and thus I am not even on the leaderboard, let alone top 10. I wouldn't mind seeing a tiered reward system next time, as I mentioned before. Regardless, in my opinion WoF isn't the problem, here. If WoF didn't exist, then people would be spamming the next best quest. I think the most constructive comments would address on more equitable reward systems rather than blanket assumptions that everyone in the top 10 was spamming WoF which didn't take any effort.

I'm top 10 as well and hardly played any WoF, except in the beginning with the 6 Mothvist room. I just found it to be too frustrating, so I prefered playing complete runs of Rescue from Ragol and Lost Shock Gungnir (for additional Egg Rappies). There were enough ways to get your hands on lots of eggs except WoF first room.

On the other hand, it's event. Of course people are playing different now. For Christmas it's Fiasco, for Easter it's whatever monster spam quest is best. If there is no WoF, then people will find something else.

The issue is that WoF is too good compared to other things. During the Christmas Event, while it was Fiasco, it wasn't leaps and bounds better than other things and people usually had to play it with other people. It was like 600 enemies, but also longer than the MA4 series as well, so while Fiasco was obviously the most played quest, people spread out and did other things when they got bored of it.

Here, we have a quest that gives you 60 enemies in about 30 seconds and very easily soloable, since it's Forest. There's nothing wrong with a "best" method being found, but people shouldn't feel like they have to play it to have a chance of getting into something like Top 10. There's a lot of people currently in the Top 10 right now who weren't even close until they started spamming the first room of WoF after the double egg chance occurred.

Just wanted to add that I agree that first WoF room is too op. But it took me like 4-5 minutes in Ult with my HUnewearl. It also wasn't long enough to make the lobby command available after every run. Rescue from Ragol was very underestimated by people imo.

new players being able to farm event drops is obtained by letting people spook rappies for them. at least then fiy was only like 45 enemies in 3 minutes with no exp compared to 60 enemies with exp + random tollaw 1/22k drops

I dunno, Matt. I can't help but feel like there's many people conflating two different issues, here.

If you take WoF away, then I feel like you're throwing out the baby with the bathwater. WoF is a fun quest good for enemy counts and maybe rare rappy hunting (although I have yet to see a rare rappy in that first room, personally) and that's it. Conversely, if you didn't have a top 10 reward - let's pretend for a moment that it was never mentioned - then I don't think anyone would care what other people were running. This wouldn't be an issue. I mean, this is provable, it wasn't an issue before we had these event drops.

That's why I really think the discussion is best focused on discussing future reward systems rather than removing content.

While most people discuss about the top ten thing, they are not getting my other point : it's not fine to find eggs that easily and get high hit end-game gear as a reward. It seems completly unfair and unbalanced to me. I can't be the only one having issues with that.

seriously look at our population and some of the drop rates, those rates are fine for 200 or 300+ people where they can constantlyflow in but both the christmas and easter events have been events to put some ubers into the market

hell, most of the ultimate presents were just hildetorr drops or stuff that was almost nonexistent at the time (hit sof)

its 10% to even hit the uber in the first place, it may be one you didnt want, and then i dont even know what the rate of each hit% is

im fine with people rolling in eggs but not with wof being as easy as it is
