Other than killing enemies and breaking boxes, there are other ways to produce Photon Drops from the game. This guide will show you where and how to get these Photon Drops.
1. Lucky Roulette
2. To The Deepest Blue -MA4 Venue-
3) Beak's Cafe
1. Lucky Roulette
When you complete Episode 2's Phantasmal World 1-4, you can get Lucky Coins after you talk to Natasha Milrose and then Nol Rinale. You get 1 Lucky Coin for completing a run on Normal-Very Hard and up to 4 coins per run on Ultimate. In Ultimate, the number of Lucky Coins you receive are determined by the number of players in your party and when you go to claim your Lucky Coins.
To gamble your Lucky Coin(s), create a party in Episode 2 multi-mode and load up the 'Gallon's Shop' quest from the Shop category. When you arrive in Pioneer 2, move forward and turn left at the second room.
From there, you will warp to Gallon's Shop. Interact with the first machine to the left and you will be able to use your Lucky Coins.

From my personal experience, it's easiest to run PW1 or PW2 to farm Lucky Coins.

2. To The Deepest Blue -MA4 Venue-
Each time you complete a Maximum Attack 4 quest from any episode, you are rewarded with MA4 tickets. You can use these tickets and gamble on prizes you can win.
Create a party in Episode 2 multi-mode and load the 'To The Deepest Blue -MA4 Venue-' quest from the Event category. Walk forward and turn right towards the Lab warp. After warping, take the left door to warp to Seabed Upper levels.
Navigate through Seabed until you find a console in the middle of the room. From there, you can spend tickets and win prizes. The prizes are random and as follows:
1st Place: Samurai Armor -> Girasole -> Friend Ring -> Photon Crystal -> Photon Drop
2nd Place: 200000 Meseta
3rd Place: Luck/HP/TP Material
4th Place: Power/Defense/Mind/Evade Material
5th Place: Monogrider/Digrinder/Trigrinder

3) Beak's Cafe
When you clear Episode 4's Maximum Attack 3 Ver2 found in the VR category, you are awarded with MA3 tickets based upon how many kills your party has when you clear the quest. The more kills your party has, the more MA3 tickets you get. The maximum amount of tickets you can get per run is 30. You need 500+ kills to get 30 tickets per run. Also, difficulty does not affect the amount of tickets you get, so it's fastest to run this quest on normal.
When you want to spend MA3 tickets, create a party in Episode 4 multi-mode and load 'The Beak's Cafe Ver2' at the bottom of the Event category.
Use this guide to help you find the two different roulettes to chose to use your tickets at.
