Occurred during a 2C3. I was just picking up a few items and got attacked with this. I most certainly did not hit the inventory limit as hardly anything dropped, nor was I spamming item pickups really quickly.
 
May be a problem with the load outs. I'll have to check it.
 
I have a quick question, was this during a "Retry"?

EDIT: Nevermind, I thought this bug was something else but it isn't.
 
Not sure why it went out of sync, fixed one procedure and also, if it happens again, it will log and not disconnect you.
