Below is a list of items that are complied for each class, in hopes of educating newer players and steering them in the right direction.

HUNTERS!

Weaponry:

Ranged:

-Charge Raygun- A great source of ranged damage. When you need to keep a large distance away from your targets, such as Lillies or on Falz 3rd form, this is an excellent way to continue to pummel your targets.

-Charge Diska/Diska of Braveman- Sacrificial ranged multitarget weapon. With the use of the SNS glitch, you can effectively slaughter from a range.

-Charge Vulcans/M&A60 Vice- Your ultimate single target blow up weapon. As long as accuracy is not an issue, this will be your highest form of DPS in the form of a ranged weapon due to their sacrificial special.

-Master Raven/Last Swan- Highly accurate/fast source of ranged DPS. Handgun range and fires 3 rounds per shot. Master Raven is combo locked while Last Swan isn't combo locked.

Melee:

-Daylight Scars/BKB/Jizai- A 1v1 multi hit melee weapon. This normally follows personal preference, each have useful specials.
-Red Sword/TJS/Zanba- Your multi target beatstick. TJS will have a higher DPS, however Red Sword is easier to obtain and has a very useful special of paralyzing 5 targets at once. Zanba needs a good bit of hit for the sacrificial special to be worthwhile.
Excalibur- An overall useful item. Saber animation with three targets. High ATP/ATA and has a berserk special.

Status:

-Slicer of Fanatic- Ranged multi target demons. Works best if not used on a Cast.
-Arrest Handgun/Holy Ray- Unreduced Arrest with high accuracy. Great for pinning down targets from a great distance away (Dorphons).
-S Rank Slicer- Arrest special for hunters to immobilize groups.
-S-Reds- One of two forms for Shifta and Deband. It's a low level, but if you are solo every little bit helps. Only applies to Hucast, Humar, and Hucaseal.

Armor-

-BOVN- A great option. Built in Heavenly/Battle speed rids you of the need of a v101.
-Lieutenant Mantle- Does not have the best status upgrades, but has built in trap vision and decent DFP.

Shield-

-Red Ring- This is the end all be all shield for pretty much every class (excluding support forces).
[CAST ONLY]-S.Parts ver2.01- One of the few shields other than RR that adds ATA.
Units-

-Centurion/Ability- 30+ to all stats, 3 to ATA.
-v101- Heavenly/Battle with 15+ to all stats, +1.5 to ATA.
-v502- Increased special procs.
-Cure units- When appropriate.
-SMARTLINK- Raises your ranged accuracy by a noticeable amount.
-Heavenly Arms/Adept- Increases your accuracy overall if needed.

RANGERS-

Weaponry:

Multitarget DPS-

-S Rank Needles- Bread and butter of your weaponry. Popular specials include: Berserk, Spirit, Hell, Zalure, Demons, and Arrest.
-Baranz Launcher/Charge Arms- A good substitute for ranged multi target damage. It has a larger range than a Needle with a larger delay and a higher ATP.
-Canon Rouge- A launcher that hits multiple targets for heavy damage. Cannot combo, but useful for landing the Dragons or Ro Le/Barbra Ray.

Single target DPS-

-Charge Vulcans- With high ATP and ATA, these are your best source for single target damage.
-Heaven Striker- Auto target, high ATP/ATA berserk weapon.Rifle range, handgun range on the special.

Melee:

-Excalibur- Lizard killer. Pretty much the only use for this weapon in most cases, however it’s one of the best.

Status:

-Froozen Shooter/Snow Queen- A must have for rangers. Instantly freezes an enemy if the shot lands. Rifle.
-S Rank Mechguns- With Demons special, a combo can take down even the highest HP monsters. Works best if not used on a Cast.
-Bringer's rifle- Ranged Demons. Rifle Range.

Armor:

-Aura Field- Any other high DFP armor will work here as well.
[CAST ONLY] Black Hound Cuirass. Highest DFP armor for casts.
-Lieutenant Mantle- Does not have the best status upgrades, but has built in trap vision and decent DFP.

Units:

-V101
-V502
-Adept- 20 ATA and small boosts to other attributes. TP cost is cut when using Spirit.
-Centurion/Ability
-Cure Units

Shield:

-Red Ring
-Ranger Wall- Boosts your ATA over the cap much like the Red Ring.

FORCES

Weaponry-

Magic set/Support:

-Glide Divine- Doubles the range of J/Z.
-Striker of Chao- Doubles your S/D range.
[FEMALE FORCES ONLY] Principal’s Gift Parasol/Tyrell’s Parasol- Double’s S/D/Resta range.

Nuking:

-Prophets of Motav/Psycho Wand- 20% and 30% respectively to Hard attacks (Ra's)
-Mercurius Rod- 30% increase to Grants.
-Demonic Fork/Dark Bridge- Piercing Megid for Ep2/Lizards.
-Magical Piece- 30% increase to Normal techs (Gi's).

Melee:

-Excalibur- Hit preference, you’re going to miss a TON using the special without some decent accuracy boosts. All purpose beatstick.
-Slicer of Fanatic- Ranged crowd control, especially used when in a party and your DD are up in front. It supplies a great foundation and generally brings mobs down quickly.
-Bringers Rifle- Long range for safe distance demoning. Great for PW4 and the like.
-50 hit Charge Vulcans- Single target weapon. Best used when enemies are frozen.
[FEMALE FORCES ONLY] Vivenne- A great single target beatstick, with a steal TP special.

Armor:

-Aura Field/other high stat Armor- Standard
[FONEWM ONLY] Mother Garb+: Halves your TP cost. Great item.
-Cursed Cloak- Gives penetrating megid.
-Lieutenant Mantle- Does not have the best stat boosts, but has built in trap vision and decent DFP.

Units:

-Centurion/Ability
-V801- Decreases casting times (Use when it applies)
-V101- Increases melee speed. (Use when it applies)
-SMARTLINK- Boost to Ranged Accuracy, always a plus. (Use when it applies)
-Cure units- When appropriate. (Use when it applies)
-Adepts- Quite possibly the best unit for a Force. Cuts your TP cost by 1/4 and raises attributes.
-Heavenly/Mind- For pure MST boosts.

Shields:

-Red Ring- Melee Force
-Resta Merge- Fonewm/Fomar in particular, due to it’s terrible resta range. Good for all classes.
-Tech Merge- Different Tech merges to boost that tech/tech class’s power.

Things that I'm iffy on keeping/adding:
-Vjaya- An extremely powerful tool, but comes at a price. Each special swing deals 3x hard damage, but at the cost of 10k Meseta.
[FEMALE FORCES ONLY] Marina's Bag- Doubles Resta/Anti range.
-Guardianna-Single target damage cards. Spirit special.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feel free to add suggestions to this, I'll consider adding them in.

For Forces, I would add the following:

Techs:
Si-tech-boosting weapons, i.e. Summit Moon, Club of Laconium, Mace of Adaman, Cane of Zumiuran.
Solferino (Resta boost for male characters)

Units:
V502

Armors:
Smoking Plate(FOnewm only, but great DFP).
Virus Armor: Lafuteria
Mother Garb (Note that Mother Garb+ is the same, but also boosts Grants on occasion)

Guns:
Holy Ray (decent atp, great ata, rifle-range paralysis)
Vise (if you can't afford C-Vulcans' special, prefer its looks or like living on the edge!)
50+hit Hell Raygun

Slicers:
Diska of Braveman (with Hit of course, and you can equip it with Thirteen)
S-Rank Hell J-Cutter/Slicer
S-Rank Arrest J-Cutter/Slicer
Red Slicer and Crimson Coat combo (or Red Coat)
Rainbow Baton (w/ Hit)

Melee:
Excalibur is the strongest, but here are some secondary options:
Double Saber (you can get a 50h one from a Gov quest, decent damage, great for stealing TP)
Red Saber + Crimson Coat combo (If you're a Whitill, this makes a nice replacement for Excalibur until you can get one)
Asteron Belt/Soul Banish

Oh, and without looking at it in detail, I might add Yasminkov 9000r to your Ranger list - they're rifle-range mechs, after all.

I really don't think it's fair to list a lot of those items in the "best items" thread.
Smoking plate is worse than aura field and virus armor
Mother garb is worse than mother garb+
Vise/CV and DoB are pretty useless on a fo unless you have 4way PB
Red Slicer, rainbow baton, double saber, asteron belt, soul banish, and red saber are useless no matter what
Guardianna is okay but it needs very high hit and red ring
S-rank demon's mechs are okay on a select few enemies (still that's more than most of those items you listed)

Also take cent/ability and h/mind off the list imo. No one concerned with using the best items would have that bad of a mat plan.

You're right, but by that virtue, only Lafuteria should be listed, since it can have higher DFP than Aura Field. Smoking Plate, however, has a substantially lower level requirement.

Mother garb is worse than mother garb+

Only in regard to a few DFP points and the Grants boost, which might not matter to everyone. The existence of vanilla MG is worth mentioning since the selling point for both armors is the TP-cost-cut.

Vise/CV and DoB are pretty useless on a fo unless you have 4way PB

I have to disagree, I'm afraid, and I have the impression you haven't played a lot of melee FO, or maybe you just compare every class to HUcast, whose power is in many cases excessive. FOmar in particular is quite great with all of these weapons. FOmar at max ATP will do about 700/1000 per hit with Vise/Vulcans and 900/1350 (sphered, unsphered about 800/1200) per hit with Diska of Braveman which will let you combo-kill some mobs (SNS or possibly SHS could work well here). Since FOmar doesn't get an ATA buff on this server, FOnewm will have an easier time hitting with the specials. FOnewm does about 550/850 with Vise/Vulcans and 700/1150 with DoB. There are just some situations where melee is more effective than techniques, whether you're playing alone or in a group, e.g. techs are worthless against Vol Opt's final form and DoB lets you do the most damage to his multiple parts (Vivienne is good too, of course, but it's female only).

Red Slicer, rainbow baton, double saber, asteron belt, soul banish, and red saber are useless no matter what
Rainbow Baton is nice because of its special, and it also has substantial power sphered. If you don't like confusing enemies, that's fine, but to brand it as useless is another thing. Asteron Belt is, sadly, the best partisan option for FOmars (on Schthack it was Casino Soul Eater, but alas...), but I would understand leaving it off the list in favor of Excalibur. Double Saber is great for stealing TP. The Red weapons are good with the Crimson Cloak - even if you insist on calling everything useless - but I concede that they do not belong on a list of the absolute best items.

Ultimately, it's NDW's list and he can add what he likes.

Asteron Belt makes a good lizard killer for rangers, too. Especially if you have a V502.

Asteron has reduced Hell. With a V502, you'll have a roughly 38% chance to actually land hell, which while statistically that sounds nice when you're about to hit a group of five of them it means that realistically the lizard in front of you is going to spit on you, knock you down, and then you'll be surrounded and wishing you had not done that.

I'll admit vulcans/vise are good on fomar against nano dragons (although you could probably kill them faster with a good guardianna), stuff in forest/temple/maybe spaceship and solo mode. I'm hesitant to call DoB (even sphered and with thirteen) "good" anywhere besides forest and temple and I guess it's alright against lilies. Also those numbers you mentioned are with zalure, right? Having to cast zalure on every enemy before you attack it takes forever, not to mention it will probably just get in the way of everyone else in your party (especially in areas where weapons like dob/vulcans are useable...) For vol opt I think you are better off using excal. Melee fo is fine but unfortunately there aren't really any good options for damage besides excal, vivienne, rambling may, and guardianna.

The only situation I can think of where confusion might be useful is stopping a pan arms from splitting.

I'm not sure how TP could be an issue for anyone ever. But if for whatever reason you're using it so fast that you run out of fluids before you're done with your quest, why not just go buy more fluids? Otherwise you will probably end up spending half your time trying to hit stuff with your double saber (and tbh probably even more of it complaining about how your friends/acquaintances are killing the enemies too fast).

Confusion is nice against the mines robots, and it's just fun in general. LV30 Zalure is great and you can zalure a whole room in one go with the Glide Divine. DoB gives you more range and hits more targets so it's better in some situations.

Check out this video Henkus made, in which he effectively uses SoF (for damage) and Vise (disregarding, of course, the use of L&K38, which was a Schthack feature): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTBSAutk34s
