Not a bug, just unfortunate. Nothing can be done, no item replacement/creation from staff and you just have to be mindful of killing things not past those rocks in the future.

My guess is you are another light theme user like myself; that's the problem with people using white text. It is unreadable unless highlighted in light mode.
